With a degree in communications, Debra Berger first started pursuing her “volunteer profession” in animal protection at the Atlanta Humane Society. Through the years, she continued to volunteer for animals, serving in various roles ranging from direct care to advocacy, which she learned from the Humane Society of the United States. She also became certified as a Humane Education Specialist and founded the Georgia Center for Humane Education. Berger is utilizing her varied skillset to help animals in Georgia through legislation, policy, education and volunteer engagement.
