Alex Gamez is a native of south Texas where he grew up raising animals on his family’s farm. He has worked closely on measures in the Texas legislature relating to the criminalization of the unlawful restraint of a dog, the outlawing of puppy mills and allowing for retired law enforcement dogs to be adopted by their current or former handler, which may otherwise have been auctioned off for a fee upon retirement. He received his bachelor's from Texas State University and loves spending his free time with his mom, sister and adorable 6-year-old rescue dog named Lucy.
