Ciccolo leads our Office of General Counsel and Animal Protection Litigation department.

She brings to this role decades of legal experience working for some of the most prominent and influential advocacy organizations in the country. Most recently, she served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary for Special Olympics International and was the co-chair of its Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce, as well as a director of several subsidiary organizations. Previously, Ciccolo was the general counsel of the NAACP. She is proud to use her expertise to advance our global work to protect all animals.

Ciccolo received her law degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in foreign service, with a concentration in international economics, finance and commerce from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She is admitted to the bar in D.C., Maryland and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Among her many professional memberships, she is the board chair for the Center for Workforce Inclusion—an organization that provides programs for low-income, older job seekers—and director for Leonard Cheshire USA, which supports independent living for people with disabilities.

She lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and two rescued beagles, Gordie and Bernie. She has three grown children and enjoys writing and gardening in her free time.
